Welcome the Career Break Coach blog.

A Career Break is a period of time taken out of your normal routine to do something completely different such as travel, do some volunteer work, gain a new skill or a professional qualification, renovate your house or simply work on your tan.

Meet the locals

If you choose to travel during your Career Break it is a great opportunity to learn about other cultures, their values, beliefs and customs, not to mention interacting with the local people. Meet some of the locals I've encountered during my travels.

How cute is this little girl? She had a very tight grip!
In the streets of Hoi An, Vietnam. Sometimes the locals aren't what you'd expect to find. You never know what's around the corner!
These children live in a small village off the Mekong Delta, Laos. Communication is by waving and smiles and that's seems enough.
At a school in a village outside of Bangkok, join in the classroom dance time.
Would you want a spider as big as this on you? The locals consider them a delicacy.  The spiders are deep fried and eaten whilst drinking a cold beer!!!  Think I'll stick to crisps thanks!
Other locals like to get up close and personal.
Though this one just liked to shoot snot and banana left-overs
All of the cats were tied up so couldn't run away.
Kids from a local school visit a temple with broom sticks in hand to give it a good clean.
He doesn't look impressed does he?
A little wave is enough to make you smile!  Wouldn't you agree?
Catching a few rays whilst having a lovely sleep.
